Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit Course - New Applicant 8 Hour

This comprehensive 8-hour concealed carry course is designed for new applicants seeking their Colorado concealed carry permit.
About this Event

Topics covered include:

• Situational Awareness – Recognizing and avoiding potential threats
• Firearm Safety – The foundational rules of safe gun handling
• Gun Handling Fundamentals – Proper grip, stance, drawing, and operation
• Range Safety Rules – Safe behavior on and off the firing line
• De-escalation Techniques – How to avoid and defuse confrontations
• Colorado State Laws – Legal framework for concealed carry in Colorado

Exams & Certification

This course includes both a written exam and a live fire exam. A silhouette target will be provided for the live fire portion. Please note: Participation in the class does not guarantee certification. Students must pass both the written exam and the live fire requirement to receive their certificate.

50 rounds in the high center chest with a passing rate of 70% or better on target at 21 feet out.

Written exam will need to be a passing grade of 80% or better.

What to Bring

• ✅ Valid Colorado State ID (required to confirm participation)
• ✅ A functional firearm – semi-automatic pistol, revolver, or derringer
• ✅ Minimum 50 rounds of ammunition for your firearm
• ✅ Eye protection (required on the range)
• ✅ Electronic ear protection (required on the range — available for purchase in class for $50/pair)
• ✅ Closed-toe shoes (required)
• ✅ Appropriate range attire – No low-cut or open-collar shirts; clothing must protect your neckline and chest from brass ejection
• ✅ Food and/or snacks per your personal dietary needs
• ✅ Complete your waivers in advance – Fill out the live fire waiver and range waiver prior to class day (links available on our website)

Drinks and light snacks are available on location. Feel free to bring additional food per your individual needs.

Firearm Safety Reminders

🚫 Do NOT leave firearms in your vehicle. Unattended guns in vehicles are a leading cause of firearm theft. Please bring your firearm into the facility secured in a case.

🔒 All firearms must remain cased and stored until you are on the range and instructed to handle them. There are no exceptions to this policy.
