About this Event
Colorado Aquatic Connectivity Workshop
Join us at Catbird Hotel in Denver for an exciting event focused on building a diverse expert team to address aquatic connectivity in Colorado. In partnership with American Rivers and the Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership (SARP), American Whitewater is inviting you to this workshop to kick off the development of an Aquatic Connectivity Team (ACT) in order to form a working partnership to streamline recreational and aquatic organism passage projects in Colorado. The goals of the team are broadly to identify, prioritize and replace, retrofit or remove dams, stream crossings and other barriers that create hazards to public safety, hinder water flow, sediment/material transport, and biological connectivity.
We are excited to bring together local, state and federal agencies, NGOs, practitioners, businesses, and experts to discuss how Colorado can be a leader in the West in addressing fragmented waterways. Our vision is that this collaborative group can efficiently identify, prioritize, and address barriers to aquatic connectivity in Colorado. The goal of the coalition is to improve the health of aquatic habitat, increase recreational opportunities, enhance public safety, and expand economic benefits for communities throughout Colorado
