Colonel John Scott Tells His Tale

Many of you will know our Steubenville neighbor John Scott, "the Colonel." We would see him sometimes at dinner parties here in Steubenville and he would come in the shop from time to time; as he got a bit frail to travel frequently, he would call us up and order books. He always had stories, of growing up in poverty, of his religious life, his schooling, his time in the military, and his success in corporate leadership. His friend Jeff King has taken down many of his stories and the two have worked together to produce a memoir. The Colonel's Chronicle is a powerful memoir that bridges military aviation, corporate leadership, and quiet faith. It stands out as an authentic, first-person account of a Black Catholic officer navigating institutional racism while rising to the top of highly demanding worlds. We'll be doing a launch event November 10th at 7 p.m., the evening before Veteran's Day.
