In town for the Collingswood Craft and Fine Arts Festival? Stop by Perkins for a special afternoon with renowned Chinese ink painter Shutian Cao as he shares his artistic journey, process, and techniques in a public artist talk and live demo. The event includes a presentation with images and video, followed by a live demonstration of traditional Guohua brushwork. No registration required.
Presented in conjunction with his solo exhibition Visions of the Idyllic, this program offers a rare opportunity to engage with the artist behind the celebrated Blue Floral Cloth series. Born in Shanghai and now based in the U.S., Cao’s work blends realism and abstraction, tradition and memory, architecture and natural beauty — spanning subjects from Jiangnan water towns to Icelandic landscapes.
Stick around after the demo for the exhibition closing reception from 5:00–8:00 PM, also free and open to the public.
