The Collier Prize, the leading U.S. journalism competition for state government reporting, is presenting a symposium on November 18, 2026.
About this Event

We’re proud to announce that our 2026 Collier Prize Symposium will feature two dynamic keynote speakers: Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter Julie K. Brown and news innovator Steven Waldman, president of Rebuild Local News.

The Nov. 18 Symposium, a key feature of Collier Prize enrichment programming, will also include presentations from the reporting teams that won 2026 Collier Prize awards, representing KARE-11 in Minneapolis, CalMatters in California and the Miami Herald and Tampa Bay Times.

The showcase will take place both in-person at the University of Florida Reitz Union Rion Ballroom, and online via livestream (a link will be emailed, to those who have selected the online ticket option, on the week of the symposium). Lunch will be provided to those attending in person.
