College "Sustainability" Hack-a-thon

Join Nerdy Girl Success and SLB for a 1 day Sustainability Hackathon designed for college women who are ready to collaborate, create, and tackle real world challenges that actually matter.
This is not a lecture and you do not need prior experience in sustainability, engineering, or tech to participate. All you need is curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to work alongside other driven young women in a fun, supportive environment.
Throughout the day, participants will:
💡 Work in teams to solve sustainability challenges
🌱 Explore topics connected to climate, nature, and community impact
🤝 Connect with professional women and mentors from across Houston
🎤 Present ideas in a collaborative pitch experience
🏆 Compete for exciting prizes and awards
Participants will also gain hands-on leadership experience, strengthen communication and teamwork skills, and build confidence tackling complex ideas in a space designed to encourage innovation and bold thinking.
Whether you’re studying STEM, business, communications, healthcare, education, or are simply passionate about creating positive change, this experience is for you.

⏰ Time: 8:30AM – 4:30PM
📍 Location: University of Houston Main Campus
🎟️ Cost: Free to attend
Lunch and a complimentary event t-shirt will be provided for all selected participants.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Identify as a woman
• Ages 18–22
• Currently enrolled in college/university/junior college/community college or a recent graduate (within 2 years)
This is more than a hackathon. It’s a chance to meet incredible women, build something meaningful, and see yourself as a future leader and changemaker!
