Why take this heroine's journey?
Collage is a great medium to give ourselves powerful insights into our own life experiences. And as heroines we will reconnect to the previously discarded feminine identify imbalances. Reintegrating the strengths of both the masculine and feminine aspects of the self has us living in the wholeness of love and vitality.
Consider how dreaming weaves lived events into new scenarios, ranging from strange to mundane. And that these can affect our moods and attitudes upon awakening. Sometimes pleasantly. Sometimes not. And depending on whether or not we even notice our dreams, or are someone who journals daily about them, our awareness reflects a broad spectrum of what they can teach us.
Now translate this idea to that of random images torn, cut, and pasted. Instead of being abstract like dreams, these are actual images handled, and personalized, bit by bit. Imagery is captured, held in new compositions. This process continues until a creator feels complete; satisfied with their exploratory adventure.
Similar to when we drift to sleep, when we collage our unconscious minds become free to express what we can be unaware of in our waking lives. And so the previously unseen information can visually land and be considered as parts of our psyches seeking to be understood.
