Collaborative Problem Solving® Parent / Caregiver Class
6 online Sessions | October 3 - November 21 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm ET / 3:00pm - 4:30pm PT
Think:Kids invites parents and caregivers to learn Collaborative Problem Solving® (CPS), the evidence-based and trauma-informed approach for helping children develop the skills they need to manage their behavior. This class teaches parents and guardians how to reduce challenging behaviors by using the CPS approach with their child.
This is an introductory class for those not yet familiar with Collaborative Problem Solving.
Class materials, breakout sessions, and opportunities for questions and answers will be a part of this highly interactive parent class experience.
During this interactive training you will:
- Understand why children sometimes struggle to meet day-to-day expectations.
- Learn the Collaborative Problem Solving approach to addressing conflicts in a way that reduces challenging behaviors, improves relationships, and teaches critical skills.
- Practice addressing problems before things become escalated between you and your child.
- Connect with other parents in a compassionate and non-judgmental setting.

Course Requirements
When registering, you are signing up for 6 Weeks. Attendance is required for each day as the learning builds upon the previous session's content. This class is tailored for parents and takes place entirely online. You will need to have email, basic computer skills, and internet access, and a web camera in order to participate in the sessions. Those who attend all 6 sessions will receive a certificate of participation.
Tuition
- Individuals: $395 USD for all 6-sessions
- Two Co- parents/Caregivers: $515 USD for all 6-sessions
** Must be discussing the same child in order to take advantage of the Two Co-parent /Caregiver discount**

About Your Instructor
Ed Morales, MPP, MSW, LICSW, is a Certified Trainer and Consultant at Think:Kids.
Based in Minneapolis, Ed is a husband, an adoptive parent, and a step parent with more than a decade of experience as a clinician and educator. He began his journey with Collaborative Problem Solving in 2014 as a school social worker, and was certified as a trainer in 2017. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota and his Master of Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
In addition to his work with Think:Kids, Ed is a staff trainer with the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy, a social worker with Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, serves as Community Faculty with the University of Minnesota’s School of Social Work, sits on the Minnesota Children’s Subcommittee on Children’s Mental Health, and provides training and consultation on a wide array of issues facing families and the systems that serve them through Socorro Consulting.
