Collaborative Care for Problems Down There: Actionable Insights for the Perinatal Professional
Date: Wednesday September 18th
Time: 6-7:30pm
Location: 444 S Union St
Description
Pregnant and postpartum clients deserve the best possible care from a multi-disciplinary team – but beyond leakage and pain, how do you know if someone would benefit from pelvic PT? And what do they actually do, anyway?
In this workshop designed for perinatal professionals, you'll learn about what evidence-based pelvic floor care looks like so you can feel confident knowing when to refer clients, who to refer them to, and what happens behind the closed doors of a pelvic floor evaluation both during pregnancy and postpartum. You'll learn tips to protect much more than just the pelvic floor during delivery, and cover techniques you can put into practice right away to better support your clients during their pregnancies and in their postpartum recoveries.
Elevate your knowledge in this informative and engaging talk by seasoned multi-state pelvic health clinician, Dr. Judith Meer, PT, DPT. You won’t want to miss this!
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
1. Describe & explain what happens in a typical pelvic floor physical therapy initial evaluation during pregnancy and postpartum.
2. List at least 5 symptoms that would indicate a referral to a pelvic physical therapist.
3. Share 3-4 new tips or techniques with pregnant clients, including appropriate orthopedic modifications for labor and delivery.
4. Share 3-4 new tips or techniques with postpartum clients for effective post-delivery healing.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion for 1 contact hour for your continuing education records.
