About this Event

In these times of change and uncertainty, come along to a shared space for us all to see the bigger picture of our efforts, combining our many and diverse calls to action, and joining the dots between all our shared values.

Our challenge: How can we help foster a movement ecology - from competition between different campaigns towards mutual support, towards shared objectives of good change?

We will have specific activities and time for reconnection with each other, sharing our own campaigns and experiences of struggle whilst insisting on justice, confronting the shared problems of power, and building caring connections.

It's easy to get stuck in the moment, and demands, of our current fight. Taking a moment to lift our head to look around and see the world of lives fighting right alongside us, with expertise to share, brings a deep and necessary solace and light. We're going to need a Bigger Tent!

This day will help us all think about how we “out-scale” - connect across the dots, and leverage all our efforts involving people and land and life and our planet towards a better future.

Our questions:

1: what are the values, and purposes which encourage us to get involved in socio-environmental struggle?

2: how do we expand, share, and build our skills in this work?

3: can we find better ways to converge in mutual support, skill-sharing and solidarity?

Let us bring our energy, our learning, our curiosity, a lunch to share and/in the words of Jack Gilbert, a stubborn indomitable gladness about life, connection, the planet and the more than human.

Kresen Kernow is a 12 minute walk downhill from Reduth Station. Please do use the train if you can; we can organise lifts to and from if you let us know you need them. If you are coming by car, we're great at car sharing - and there is free car parking. The venue is light and airy, accessible and roomy; and we can share lunch and use the tea and coffee making facilities there. Last time we gathered there it worked like a dream. Bring your hearts, imaginations, lunch, soul, notebooks and curiosity. Time to out-scale!
