Coley & Katesgrove History Walk

Thursday 1 October | 10:30 am – approximately 11:30 am
Local historian Terry and Nature Nurture will take you on a guided walk exploring the fascinating history of Coley, Katesgrove, and the Holy Brook Nook, as told through local community murals by Commando Jugendstil. From medieval monks to the modern day.
Starting on Coley Place, opposite The Castle Tap pub - What3words ///civic.orders.shadow.
The walk includes mural stops at:
- The Tale the Brook Told
- Between Two Waters
- The Katesgrove Time Travel Tunnel
The walk finishes at Holy Brook Nook - What3words ///galaxy.snap.spider, where refreshments will be available and you'll have the chance to meet Nature Nurture's volunteer conservation team and Adrian Lawson, who leads the monthly Look After the Nook sessions. About Holy Brook Nook
Holy Brook Nook is a vibrant community and outdoor learning space celebrating the history, wildlife and future located in Reading (near Brook Street West, RG1 6HF). Since 2022, Nature Nurture has worked alongside local partners to transform the site through conservation, creative projects and community activities. Thanks to National Lottery funding awarded in 2025, the project continues to offer free nature-based and creative programmes while local residents help shape its future.

- The route follows pavements and shared paths and includes some uneven surfaces.
