Support Cole and His Family
Cole is a 10-year-old boy who has faced serious health challenges for most of his life. Despite everything, he doesn’t let his condition define him—he still finds joy in the things he loves, especially wrestling and going to the races.
Cole was born with a rare genetic condition called Senior-Løken syndrome, which combines Leber congenital amaurosis and Nephronophthisis. Because of this, Cole is legally blind—he can only see about six feet in front of him and has roughly 10% of his field of vision.
In addition, his kidney disease has progressed to stage 4, and he will need a kidney transplant, and possibly dialysis, in the near future. Cole has been referred to the Maine transplant team, but before he can move forward, he must be cleared by five different specialists, undergo extensive testing, and complete numerous appointments. Because of his size, not all of his bloodwork can be done at once, requiring multiple trips to the lab.
His care also involves frequent travel to Boston to see specialists, including an upcoming appointment on May 18 with his low vision doctor. Between appointments, testing, and procedures, this will be a long and ongoing journey—not something that will be resolved in just a few weeks.
With all of this comes a significant financial burden. Travel costs, gas, lodging, food, and time away from work are adding up quickly for his family. Through it all, his parents are doing everything they can to be by his side every step of the way.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation—no amount is too small. Your support can help ease the financial strain and allow Cole’s family to focus on what matters most: being there for him during this critical time.
Every bit of help makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness and support. ❤️
