Cold Creeps
With musical roots stretching from a cappella open mics to synth nights and DIY basement shows, Cold Creeps are their own target audience with a sound that is as haunting as it is hypnotic. A little shoegaze, a little grunge, this four-piece weaves stories and dreams into something weird, dark, and deeply familiar.
Is She?
Estelle Poole, who performs under the Is She? moniker, is a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and former bandleader of Junesevere. Though born in downeast Maine on the Blue Hill Peninsula, she has been rooted in southern Maine since 2014. An illuminating songwriter and performer, her lyrical themes articulate and explore complex subject matters such as love, the many facets of the feminine experience, grief, nature, and unraveling the complexities of being human, set to a backdrop of guitar melodies that carry the listener through soundscapes that seem in constant movement.
Poole’s characteristic ethereal vocal melodies and syncopated guitar finger picking define her songwriting style. Her work as a band leader leans into jazz, prog-rock and even reflect a chamber music composer’s approach applied to pop and rock styles. Her thoughtful use of space and well-timed rests within her composing are especially notable. Her ensemble is comprised of Stu Mahan (Damn b/Royal Hammer) on bass, Dan Boyden (Finest Kind/Sister Sparrow) on drums, and Zoe Stefanic on harmonies and keys.
Vanishing Act
Vanishing Act are the tongue-in-cheek side project of Mark Priola, Stefan Hanson, and Elijah True (An Anderson, Going2Hell, Perfect Hair, CUSS, and Huak among others). They guide sounds of classic rock, math, noise, and punk together in a half-serious merger that should be equal parts humor and homage; Van Halen meets Deerhoof, AC/DC meets Shellac.
