Partnerships between humans and AI are becoming increasingly common. However, they are often ineffective because people rely too much or too little on AI. This leads to harmful consequences such as the spread of bias, overlooked special cases, and a homogenization of ideas and skills. This talk proposes that AI should be a tool for thinking – a cognitive framework that helps us reflect on the information we need appropriately and effectively.Speaker: Harmanpreet Kaur, University of Minnesota
This talk is part of the public IfI Colloquium series: https://www.ifi.uzh.ch/en/studies/phd/colloquium/spring-2026.html#Kaur
