Join Friends of the Chemung River Watershed for a morning of exploring the many ways we can create healthier habitats for pollinators and wildlife right here in our community.

Discover why fall is a great time to plant native plants and learn how preparing and planting now can help establish healthy plants for spring while providing important food, shelter, and habitat for birds, bats, butterflies, bees, and other beneficial wildlife.

Event Schedule

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Native Plant Sale & Activities

  • Purchase a native plant
  • Make your own native seed ball - while supplies last!
  • Learn about the benefits of composting
  • Discover tips for establishing native plants

9:30 - 10:15 AM | Featured Presentation - Planting for Winter

  • Presented by CVAS Members, Brian & Mary Jane Dugan
  • Learn how native plants support birds and wildlife

10:30 - 11:00 AM | Fall Planting Demonstration

  • Led by Karen Charnetski

Whether you are an experienced gardener or just getting started, learn how simple changes in our yards, gardens, and community spaces can make a meaningful impact for pollinators, wildlife, and the health of our local environment.

Each attendee will have a chance to win a gift card to a native plant nursery!
