Join us after Stroller Strides for a presentation by Lindsey Bieligk-- " Empowering Moms: Recognizing Airway Disorders and Advocating for Your Child’s Health" In this presentation, I aim to empower mothers with the knowledge to recognize the signs and symptoms of airway disorders, such as snoring and sleep apnea, in their children. We will explore how these conditions can impact overall health, oral health, and general well-being, highlighting the importance of early detection. Additionally, I will provide valuable resources and tips on how to ask the right questions during medical consultations to ensure your child receives the best, and earliest care possible. By the end, you will be equipped with the tools to advocate effectively for your child's health.

For the past 15 years, Lindsey Bieligk has been working in clinical dental hygiene after graduating from the University of Michigan and moving to DC. My passion for dental health and thirst for learning drove me to pursue my master’s degree at Old Dominion School of Dental Hygiene in 2015. Through Old Dominion I published this article "Supporting Oral Health Among Breastfed Infants" (https://dimensionsofdentalhygiene.com/article/support-oral-health-among-breastfed-infants/) which focuses on vitamin D supplementation during exclusive breastfeeding. Being a lifelong learner, I am a certified GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) Trainer, and coursework enables me to become a certified Oromyofunctional Therapist (COM), which is a therapist that aids in treatment of TMD, snoring/sleep apnea, and successful orthodontic treatments. My research interests include oral-systemic disease connections, maternal and child oral health, and airway development, diagnosis and treatment.
