Join us for July's Coffee & Conservation as we welcome Alexandria "Lexi" Grant, Environmental Specialist with Charlotte County Natural Resources, for an engaging presentation about the shorebirds and seabirds that nest along Charlotte County's beaches and coastal habitats.
Discover the fascinating lives of some of Florida's most iconic coastal birds, including:
🐦 American Oystercatchers
🐦 Black Skimmers
🐦 Least Terns
🐦 Snowy Plovers
🐦 Wilson's Plovers
Learn how these remarkable species select nesting sites, raise their young, and face the challenges of living in busy coastal environments.
Lexi will also discuss:
✅ Shorebird and seabird nesting behavior
✅ Habitat protection and conservation efforts
✅ Nest monitoring and research techniques
✅ How nesting areas are established and protected
✅ Ways residents and visitors can help protect vulnerable coastal wildlife
Whether you're a bird enthusiast, beachgoer, paddler, photographer, or simply someone who enjoys learning about Southwest Florida's natural resources, this presentation offers a unique opportunity to better understand the wildlife that shares our coastlines.
