Coffee & Connect
for Children's Activity Providers
@ WOW @ Sparks
Coffee & Connect is a relaxed monthly meet-up for local children's activity providers and family class businesses.
Whether you run science, dance, football, sensory, music, art, sport, tutoring, pregnancy or family classes, this is for you.
OK, so this is something a little different... and honestly, slightly out of my comfort zone too.
Because if I'm completely honest, traditional networking events are probably my idea of hell.
The awkward introductions.
Standing in circles trying to "network".
Feeling like you should be selling yourself or sounding impressive.
No thank you.
But over the last few years, whilst growing both my own Mini Professors business and my regional role, I've realised just how important it is to have good people around you who genuinely understand this industry.
Because whatever classes we run, we are all navigating similar things.
Growing classes.
Changing markets.
Social media overwhelm.
Burnout.
Retention.
Trying to somehow deliver brilliant experiences for children and families whilst also running an actual business behind the scenes, usually whilst juggling our own families too.
And honestly? There is SO much knowledge sitting within our local children's activity community.
Shared wins.
Shared struggles.
Shared ideas.
Shared experience.
So rather than another formal networking event, I wanted to create something that feels relaxed, supportive and genuinely useful.
We already have this lovely space at WOW @ Sparks during the daytime and whilst cycling along to my classes one morning, I suddenly thought... let's use it for this.
The idea is simple:
Coffee.
Good conversation.
No pressure.
No awkward pitching.
No forced introductions.
No "go round the room and say what you do".
Let all of that happen naturally whilst we chat.
Just local children's activity providers coming together once a month to support each other, share ideas and hopefully leave feeling inspired and a little less alone in business.
Each month we'll have a relaxed topic or conversation starter around running children's activities and businesses. Sometimes one of us might share something that's working really well, a lesson learnt, an idea, a tool or experience that could help everyone else too.
Everyone has something to bring to the table.
Everyone has something they can learn.
We know our industry does incredible work within schools, nurseries and communities, and yet so much of what we do goes unseen. I'd love this to become a space where we support each other a little more.
It's completely free to attend and I may even provide biscuits to go with your hot drink of choice.
Good people. Good coffee. Great conversations.
If you think this sounds like a good idea, please do come along.
We all have busy schedules and endless to-do lists, so my promise is that we'll absolutely make this a worthwhile hour away from the chaos of running children's activities and businesses.
Please click Going if you'd like to join us, and do share this event with anyone you know who runs children's, baby or family-focused classes in Weymouth and the surrounding area.
