Coffee and Beer make for a great pairing...they share a lot of flavor profiles and nuances. BUT...usually you think of that in stouts. How about other styles? We're digging in to try a few newbies, and welcoming our good friends from Folklore Coffee in Lemont to help us!
First, the beer:
Brother Chimp Barnstormer Coffee Saison - This unique saison bridges the world of farmhouse tradition & single origin sourced coffee. It’s a bright, refreshing ale with a playful balance of Belgian yeast character and light-roast complexity. Notes of stone fruit, citrus, and subtle spice. Brewed in collaboration with Flight Tasting Room & featuring coffee from Krema Coffee Roasters.
Maplewood Up 'Til Dawn Coffee Blonde Ale - Brewed in collaboration with our bar staff and our friends at Hexe Coffee, this beer features hand-selected, light roast beans which add a smooth, roasty twist. Light in color but full of bold flavor, with layered notes of toasted malt, caramel, and cold brew.
Werk Force Coffee Ol' Pile - For this variant we utilized our awesome buddies at Ten Drops Coffee to custom roast for us a coffee meant to be paired with this American lager. Post fermentation we rested Ol' Pile on the whole coffee beans giving it tons of flavor and coffee aromatics without changing the light color to the beer. The result is an incredible, fresh, crushable version our classic Ol' Pile.
And starting at 5 p.m., Tessa, the amazing owner and coffee connoisseur from Folklore, will be here with a mobile coffee cart. She'll have a couple of complementary coffees that we'll include pours of with your beers, and she'll have those unique specialty coffees available for purchase, along with some seasonals.
