Code2Create | Term 4

Design and create games, program robots, and enhance your problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork skills at our Code2Create coding classes.

Code2Create will run on Monday afternoons, for eight weeks during term. This eight-session course will teach children aged 8 to 14 how to code using Scratch and M-Bots.

Please note: this is an intermediate and advanced course. Children must have prior knowledge of Scratch coding before attending.

The eight-week schedule includes:

• Week 1 - Monday 21 October

• Week 2 - Monday 28 October

• Week 3 - Monday 4 November

• Week 4 - Monday 11 November

• Week 5 - Monday 18 November

• Week 6 - Monday 25 November

• Week 7 - Monday 2 December

• Week 8 – Monday 9 December

Before attending this eight-week course:

1. Parents need to create a Scratch account for their child before the first class. Visit the Scratch website and click "Join Scratch".

2. Participants need to know the login for the Scratch account.

3. Participants need their own device – laptops are preferred with a wired mouse.

4. Participants need to be able to code at an intermediate to advanced level.

5. To ensure the safety of all participants, no food can be brought or consumed during the program.

6. Parents/Guardians of children under 10 years should remain in the library during this activity and all other children are to be collected promptly at the advertised finishing time.

Please be aware of the following:

• This is an eight-week course, run on Monday afternoons during term for one hour. Attendance is required each week.

• Bookings are essential (each child needs a ticket)

• Suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years

• Parents/guardians of children under 10 must remain in the library during the program
