About this Event
Overview
A bi‑weekly, free coding club for 7–13‑year‑olds, led by Accenture volunteers at The Dock. Kids learn to create animations and games with Scratch, a visual programming language perfect for beginners, while collaborating in a safe, social setting.
Who it’s for
Beginners to intermediate coders aged 7–13. Curiosity and creativity welcome!
Schedule & Location
- Restart date: 14 January 2026 (bi‑weekly thereafter)
- Venue: The Dock, Accenture (7 Hanover Quay, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02 YN32)
- Please arrive 5 minutes early for check‑in.
What to bring
- Laptop or tablet required for full participation
- A charger
Note: Your child is welcome to attend without a device, and follow along on the instructor’s screen; they can participate in discussions and design thinking, though they may not be able to complete the hands‑on coding that day
Tickets & Attendance
- Please select one ticket per child, minimum age of 6 years (parents/guardians do not need a ticket).
- Spaces are limited; if you can’t attend after registering, please cancel to free your spot for another family.
Safeguarding & Inclusion
- Sessions are volunteer‑led and supervised; a parent/guardian should remain on site.
- We aim to provide a safe, inclusive environment where every young person can explore technology confidently.
- If your child has accessibility needs, let us know during registration. We’ll work with you to make appropriate arrangements.
