ABOUT COCOA CRAWL
Cocoa Crawl is one of downtown Grants Pass's newest holiday traditions, bringing together local businesses, residents, and visitors for an afternoon of handcrafted hot cocoa, holiday shopping, and community celebration.
Presented by Main Street Grants Pass in partnership with Visit Grants Pass, Cocoa Crawl transforms downtown into a walkable tasting experience where participating merchants showcase their creativity through signature hot cocoa recipes.
Each business creates its own cocoa experience. Some embrace traditional recipes, while others introduce unexpected flavors, locally sourced ingredients, creative toppings, and elaborate presentations.
Participants travel between downtown storefronts, sample the cocoa creations, explore local businesses, and vote for their favorites through an interactive digital voting platform.
The event celebrates more than hot chocolate. It encourages residents and visitors to experience the businesses, people, and character that make downtown Grants Pass a special place during the holiday season.
COCOA CRAWL 2025: BUILDING A NEW HOLIDAY TRADITION
The 2025 Cocoa Crawl took place on Saturday, December 6, bringing downtown Grants Pass together for an afternoon of holiday festivities, local shopping, and cocoa tasting.
2025 Event Highlights
• 22 participating downtown merchants created signature cocoa recipes.
• Nearly 800 digital votes were submitted through the Cocoa Crawl voting platform.
• Limited-edition collectible mugs were offered for $12 during presale and $15 on event day.
• Complimentary holiday gift wrapping was available at the Welcome Center from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with proof of purchase from a participating business.
• Evergreen Federal Bank supported the downtown holiday programming.
• Main Street Grants Pass and Visit Grants Pass collaborated to promote the event and encourage community participation.
2025 Cocoa Crawl Award Winners
People's Choice Award, First Place: The Lonely Pine — Mike's Ultimate S'mores Hot Cocoa (85 votes | 4.8 stars). Rich dark chocolate, a toasted marshmallow rim, and crushed Biscoff cookies. The Lonely Pine also earned Most Creative Cocoa (4.8 stars), Best Presentation (4.8 stars), and Best Flavor (4.7 stars).
People's Choice Award, Second Place: Dwell Street Market, Staging and Design (117 votes | 4.6 stars). A marionberry white cocoa featuring Pennington Farms syrup.
People's Choice Award, Third Place: Cigar Cave LLC — Southern-Style Caliente Cocoa. A warm, nostalgic cocoa creation with a distinctive Southern-inspired character.

Cocoa Crawl returns on Saturday, December 5, 2026 with an updated afternoon schedule and a continued focus on downtown business participation, community engagement, and an enjoyable holiday experience. The 2026 event will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, giving visitors a chance to enjoy downtown in the afternoon, explore participating businesses, and fold Cocoa Crawl into their holiday shopping plans.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2026
• Signature Hot Cocoa Creations: Participating downtown merchants will develop their own cocoa recipes, with a range of flavors, presentations, and creative takes on this seasonal favorite.
• A Downtown Tasting Experience: Explore downtown on foot, stopping at participating businesses to sample cocoa and discover the shops, restaurants, and services that give the district its character.
• Interactive Digital Voting: Rate your cocoa experiences on the Cocoa Crawl voting website. Our custom marshmallow-inspired rating system gets more toasted as your rating goes up.
