The LAB, Cambridge and The Cambridge Calligrapher are delighted to invite you to an inspiring evening of creativity, cocktails, and good company.
Join Su, The Cambridge Calligrapher, for a relaxed and engaging modern calligraphy workshop with a Summer Picnics & Cocktails theme.
Perfect for complete beginners, this workshop will guide you step-by-step through the foundations of modern calligraphy. You’ll start by learning how to use a dip pen and nib, practicing basic strokes to build confidence and control. From there, you'll move on to forming letters, joining them into words, and developing your own flowing calligraphy style—with plenty of demonstrations and individual guidance throughout.
In the second half of the session, you'll put your new skills into practice by working on a personal project using calligraphy ink. We’ll add elegant touches such as gold foil and embellishments to make your creation shine. You'll leave with a beautiful A4 print, six hand-lettered gift tags, and the confidence to continue your calligraphy journey at home.
All materials are included, and you’ll take home your complete starter kit: nib, nib holder, ink, and practice sheets—everything you need to keep creating.
