About this Event
If your children are ages 4 to 8, bring them to our Poetry and Art Workshop on March 7 at noon!
Poet Nina Kossman will read poems from her new children’s book Cockroach Soup and Other Poems for Kids and help young participants learn some of the poems by heart. After the reading, children will draw and color their favorite characters from the book.
Step into a whimsical world where animals speak in rhymes, spiders ponder philosophy, and soup is never quite what it seems. This curious collection of nonsense poetry introduces a monkey obsessed with yellow pants, a centipede with far too many bleeding feet, and a lion whose royal dreams are slowly nibbled away by mice. And just when you think it can’t get any stranger—someone is serving glue soup and cockroach soup for lunch!
Playful, original, and clever, these poems spark imagination and gently tickle the darker corners of the mind. Perfect for young readers who love Edward Lear, Hilaire Belloc, and all things delightfully peculiar. Featuring original illustrations by Nadia.
Admission: $10 per child
Space is limited due to the size of our cozy venue, so we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure your spot.
