Creatives of Colour Festival presents a yoga class with Joyce from Studio 70.
A Yoga class for all People of Colour. This class will be a beginner friendly, slow Vinyasa flow class, with a focus on grounding, compassion and connection. This class is suitable for complete beginners, with the aim of offering a space to move, breath and connect with ourselves (and each other).
Please bring your own yoga mat for practice, some water and any layers you feel comfortable moving in.
If you have any injury considerations please email us at [email protected] and we will happily help you navigate if this class is appropriate for any niggles or injuries.
Joyce's yoga journey began in Hong Kong in 2012 after noticing a disconnection between her body and mind. Regular practice has offered an opportunity for Joyce to listen to her body and experienced the harmony of steadiness and ease, while also exploring lots different class styles from Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin/Yang, Pranayama and to Meditation. Since moving to Scotland Joyce has dived deeper into Vinyasa flow and Bikram/hot yoga and in 2024, graduated from the 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training at Studio 70. With her nursing background and Asian roots, Joyce aims to share classes that are safe and inclusive. A space where everyone can move, breathe, have fun together and leave the mat feeling balanced, refreshed, and uplifted."
Creatives of Colour Festival
The festival centers the voices, experiences, and creativity of people of colour in Glasgow. Storytelling sits at the heart of these creative practices, and celebrates the resilience, joy, and talent of PoC artists. Curated by Zahra Khosroshahi and Kevin Leomo.
Our stories. Our lens. Our terms.
The Festival is supported by ‘Thinking Culture’, a cultural programme from the School of Culture & Creative Arts and the Ferguson Bequest, University of Glasgow.
