Coastal Habitats as Nature-Based Solutions

Join Angus Council for a guided walk at Montrose Basin Local Nature Reserve to discover how coastal habitats can play a vital role in tackling climate change.

This engaging outdoor session will explore how saltmarshes and other coastal habitats capture and store carbon, helping to reduce the impacts of climate change while supporting biodiversity and creating more resilient landscapes. Participants will also hear about recent habitat restoration projects at Montrose Basin and learn how these nature-based solutions are benefiting both people and wildlife.

Accessibility and What to Bring

This is a slow to moderate-paced guided walk covering approximately 4.5km.

Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for uneven ground and changing weather conditions.

The route includes:

• Steps to the hide
• Short, medium-gradient slopes
• Uneven farm track access
• Runnelled ground on the saltmarsh

Binoculars may enhance your enjoyment of the visit.

Please note that toilet facilities are not available at this event.

Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead or under close control.
