About this Event
Caring for someone else brings added responsibilities and often ongoing stress. With more than one-third of Australian carers experiencing severe or extreme stress, prioritizing your own wellbeing is a critical safety requirement.
Led by experienced Carer Coaches, who will guide the conversation with empathy, respect, and understanding, we will explore the importance of prioritising self-care and recognising that looking after yourself is essential. Participants will be invited to reflect on their own needs, discover practical strategies for maintaining balance, and identify approaches that genuinely work for them in everyday life.
You’ll walk away with:
- Your Self-Care Mind Map: Visually explore five core aspects of health (Mind, Body, Relationships, Community, and Purpose) to easily identify which areas of your life need more attention.
- Micro Self-Care Strategies: Learn quick, evidence-based stress reduction techniques like the "Seven Breaths" and "5-4-3-2-1" grounding exercises - that take under five minutes.
- A Clear Action Plan: Develop a highly specific, manageable plan using a Who, What, Why, and When framework so you can confidently take one small step forward.
Take a well-deserved moment for yourself.
Please note: You must be registered with Carer Gateway to attend (we can assist with new registrations for eligible participants).
