Institute Description

Coaching and Managing for Equity Institute

A 2-day institute that offers essential knowledge and coaching “stances” and skills to become a more impactful leader when influencing the learning, growth, and development of another person.

Everyone can use coaching “stances” and skills to become an impactful leader. You may not have the word “coach” in your job title, but every leader can use a “coaching stance” to support the learning, growth, and development of another person. During this institute, you will develop and refine your coaching “stance” and practice and prepare yourself for the leadership, coaching, supervising, and managing of people in your own context. This institute will offer you language and lenses for examining inequity, along with approaches for interrupting reproductive practices in the context of caring, supporting coaching relationships. Participants will examine their own coaching approach with a focus on equity while practicing new coaching skills with each other.

Learn a range of coaching skills including:

  • Exploring beliefs and self-awareness routines to deepen an understanding about what it means to support the learning, growth and development of another adult
  • Approaches to establish rapport and trust in coaching relationships
  • Approaches that build the capacity of individuals to increase awareness and agency to work toward greater equity in their context
  • Stances to tap into your courage and agency for interrupting and shifting reproductive discourse

Accessibility

Participants will receive pre-reads and resources prior to the meeting via email. Please add [email protected] to your contacts to ensure you receive course communications. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both institute days.

We are intensely focused on humanizing our spaces. We focus on interactivity and connection by providing frequent body breaks, and attending to learning, practice, and healing in community.

Registration by credit card on Eventbrite is our preferred method. We are a small (but mighty) organization and processing and collecting check payments for our events has a high administrative impact.
