This excellent reserve, adjacent to the Lincolnshire Wash, goes from strength to strength. We will be looking out for waders, Golden Plover, Brent Geese and rare, wintering raptors including Short-Eared Owl, Merlin and Hen Harrier.
Facilities: 3 hides, viewing screens, visitor centre, cafe, toilets, picnic area
Distances and accessibility: A choice of 3 trails of 1.2, 2.2 or 2.8 miles.
A mix of accessible paths and flood banks plus grass paths which can be soft or muddy.
Admission charges: No admission charge but donations appreciated if not a member of RSPB
Coach pick ups: Stevenage: 7.45am. Hitchin: 8.00am. Letchworth: 8.15am. Baldock and Biggleswade on request
A joint trip with Stevenage RSPB Local Group
All welcome! No need to be a member of RSPB or our Local Group.
Coach fee: £30. Coach fares payable in advance - preferably at least 2 weeks beforehand - through Malcolm. Call him (leave a message if there's no answer) or speak to him at one of our Indoor Meetings.
