Co-Create Night: Kolam - Connect the Dots!
Wednesday, July 15 | 7:00–8:30 PM
All are invited for an evening of creativity, culture, and connection as local artist Deepika Rajendran introduces us to the traditional South Indian art of Kolam.
Deepika is a Renton-based Kolam and Dot Mandala artist whose work centers around the intricate geometric designs that have been passed down through generations in South India. Traditionally created as a daily practice of welcome, Kolam uses structured dot grids and flowing lines to symbolize harmony, mindfulness, and community well-being.
During this hands-on Co-Create Night, participants will create their own colorful Kolam-inspired canvas while learning about the history, meaning, and cultural significance of this beautiful art form. Options will be available for all ages and skill levels, including beginner-friendly designs and coloring projects.
Whether you're an experienced artist or simply curious to try something new, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a local artist, explore a rich cultural tradition, and create something beautiful in community.
All ages & abilites welcome
