Learn together as a community – this means we are all responsible for the work, including asking thoughtful and informed questions and contributing to discussions with an asset-based solution-oriented mindset.
Become more invested in equitable classroom practices – this is a priority for us. The materials presented will focus on universal design learning tenets and justice-based pedagogies.
Be curious and practice enacting teaching and learning strategies that build curiosity in children. There will be a focus on practice-based education that require all of us to approach these strategies and the content with curiosity.
Nurture respect for children as whole human beings and focus on supporting children in taking agency over their learning.
This PLC offers a great opportunity for a team of educators in a grade-level, building, or district to collaborate with each other and workshop presenters toward the goal of equitable instruction in math and science. Ultimately the work of institute participants will support pre-service teacher education students with the hope that by learning together, we can work together to support classroom instruction.
Virtual Meeting on Thursday, May 7th at 7 PM, In-person at CMU on June 17 - 18 and August 4th.
Institute participants will receive: up to $600 stipend for time (May – August), academic year coaching support, the ability to influence the next generation of teachers.
Applicants will be contacted in March.
