On November 14th at 7:30pm, SOUNDS OF THE CHANGING ARCTIC welcomes three Juneau-Based composers to Fairbanks: Todd Hunt, Beth Leibowtz, and Michael Bucy to lead performances of their recent works - Glacial Pathways (Hunt), Babel 2.0 (Bucy), and Lost Ice (Leibowitz). Each composition was made in collaboration with UAF scientists Olivia Lee, Joanna Young, and Vladimir Alexeev from the International Arctic Research Center, integrating current climate research with contemporary music practices. This performance will feature members of the Choir of the North, the UAF Percussion Group, student, faculty, and Fairbanks community musicians. This event is made possible by generous support from the Helen Walker Foundation and the International Arctic Research Center.
