This fun, collaborative workshop in partnership with Climate Spring is loaded with experts to help you craft and develop climate change IP that will inspire and empower children AND make your content more attractive!

Whether you work in live action or animation, in fiction or factual – it’s all about the storytelling.

This afternoon will focus your skills and offer new ideas for content.

Following Alison Norrington’s ‘Building Storyworlds’ SkillBuilder workshop which was such a hit at CMC 2023, this new workshop in partnership with Climate Spring will help you craft narratives that address the climate crisis – in ways which will stimulate and empower kids without overwhelming them.

Learn how to educate children on climate change and accommodate their passions for solutions and a sustainable future, without terrifying them. Explore how content can acknowledge the anxiety they feel, making children feel seen, without and adding to the anxiety. Create stories for children that are inspiring, empowering and uplifting, and craft journeys of transition and change that help to envision the future in impactful ways, with characters that are relatable, fun and active.

Participants in this four-hour workshop will work with Alison, her invited expert guests and Climate Spring, to create stories that will attract kids with fun and inspire them with solutions rather than overwhelm them with doom-and-gloom. Kids believe Governments are not doing enough to combat climate change, and 50% of them suffer climate anxiety, with 75% revealing they are scared about their future. Come and learn the best tips for creating characters, situations, plots and storylines that provide entertaining perspectives, while still serving these urgent concerns.

Kids don’t need facts and figures loaded into their storyworlds – they need imagination and great storytelling. This workshop will show you how to harness children’s own creative powers to help kids imagine a better future. It’s critical for kids to feel capable and excited about their future, and this will come from story first, climate second.

Refunds

If you notify CMC of your non-attendance BEFORE the event has taken place, then refunds are available. PLEASE NOTE: Eventbrite fees are non-refundable, so you will be refunded your ticket price MINUS the Eventbrite fee of £4.41

If you notify CMC of your non-attendance AFTER the event has taken place, then refunds are not eligible.
