There will be a club meeting and presentation on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Bel Air Library (100 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Bel Air, MD).Speaker: Dave Ziolkowski (Director, USGS North American Breeding Bird Survey)
Presentation Title: Osprey & Eagles & Falcons, Oh My! How the Winds of Change have Affected Some of Our Most Iconic and Familiar Birds
Bird communities have experienced profound changes over time, leaving us with a wealth of “stories” about how different species with different life histories have coped. Join us as biologist and natural historian, Dave Ziolkowski, tells the tale of several iconic species while providing a long-term view of our fascinating birdlife.
Dave is the director of the USGS’s North American Breeding Bird Survey, one of the longest running bird surveys in the world. His childhood interests drew him to ornithology, and he has been actively involved in wildlife research for over 30 years, both in the U.S. and abroad.
In the event of bad weather, the Harford Bird Club follows the HCPS inclement weather plan. If HCPS cancels school or cancels after school activities on Thursday, January 30, the club meeting and speaker will automatically be canceled.
