Club Indie is back for its 2nd instalment after you guys gave us a smashing welcome for its debut last year!!This time we have TWO top-shelf guest DJs, both 90s and 00s Sydney peak-club era veterans, BIZ and PERET Von STURMER, with Club Indie regular JEMKA, bringing you a stunning alternative clubbing experience.
What's Club Indie?
The idea for the Club Indie series came about from our passion for the genre that's becoming known in club circles in Spain, France and Mexico as "dark disco" - dance music's sultry, punkier cousin.
What type of music is this?
Think chunky basslines, synth, New Wave, and 80s-inspired house, synth, techno-disco, indie dance, Italo disco, chuggers, gritty grooves influenced by the likes of New Order / Depeche Mode / Duran Duran / Nine Inch Nails / Sisters Of Mercy / The Chemical Brothers.

-Three DJs, three hours of stunning music.

If you're a metalhead, goth, clubber, shoegazer, raver, doofer, too-old-to-be-a-raver, or just an awkward music geek, you'll be right at home.

BIZ aka Pete Elmaloglou
One of Australia's original pioneer DJ-producers, Biz has been rocking dancefloors since the late 80s. He has worked with the world's greats, incl Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Aphex Twin, and Colin Dale. As producer, Biz has a truckload of successful vinyl releases to his name which been charted by the likes of Dave Clarke, Ben Sims and Derrick May. Working at three record stores at the peak of Sydney’s 90s and 00s club and rave era, he also compiled releases for labels Force inc and Detroit's legendary Submerge. He promoted the famed Flash parties and Technikal @ Chinese Laundry at the Slip Inn, introducing Sydney to the pioneering techno artists of Detroit.
A Bello local, these days Biz is hard at work in the studio releasing new work, including projects for Transmat, We’re going Deep, Get Physical, Exalt, Laurent Garnier’s COD3 QR, Abstrakt Dance, Tronic, as well as his own labels Cliq and Subjekt. PERET Von STURMER
Composer, jazz musician, sound designer and game developer, Peret has been DJing since the early 90s explosion of trip hop, house, drum n bass hit Sydney in its hey-day of turntablism, raves and house clubs. Peret's residencies include the legendary clubs Globe and Tank, as well as Mint and the legendary Mad Racket parties, and Melbourne's Honky Tonks and Revolver.
He's played alongside an eclectic roll-call of artists: Malain kora virtuoso Mamadou Diabaté, triple DMC champion and Beastie Boys member Mix Master Mike,and legendary house producers Matthew Herbert and Theo Parrish. His compositions have featured at Vivid Sydney. Now a Bello local, Peret is a regular DJ at Bellingen Brewery, and featured at Bellingen Jazz Weekender (2025).

JEMKA aka Ewa Jaremka
From rainforest raves, queer underground events and festivals, Jemka has been moving bodies since the mid-90s, playing her first gigs as a wee teen of 17 in the Byron hinterlands - moving on to Sydney, London and now as a Bello local. Her through-line is a distinctive sound that's both retro and futuristic, and wraps in early techno, trance, late disco, goth, metal, punk, New Wave, chuggy Balearic, deep house and electro. Always audience-focused, always emotional, always unexpected. She's busy on the local circuit at Bello venues (Brewery, Federal Hotel, Showgrounds) and special events here and further afield (more recently: Berlin in Bello, Homo Muster, River Sounds Festival, Berlin in Bello, Sunday Sounds, Fanny Farm, Bellingen Beyond Jazz Weekender, Storyland, SWIFF, Botanica Festival, Briefs Factory International), is a former broadcaster at Triple B FM (Jem Collection).
