_ tskali & Henry Wilson / is a collaboration between two members of Bristol avant-club collective Realist Alive. One DJ, interested in a polarised yet ultimately inextricable dyad of provocation and emotionality, and one performance artist, writer and actor, constantly morphing, excavating himself layers of memory, regret, identity and dream. The stage show, which entwines customised lighting, spoken word and performance art with a live DJ set, presents two artists kindred in their drive toward both experimentation and sentimentality, simultaneously grievous, glitchwise, interior and expressive. Widening the bounds of contemporary DJ'ing while retaining an accessible, direct address, tskali and Henry Wilson explore a musical borderland between the familiar and the unexplored.
_ Jim Kimchi / As a co-founder of the glitch.cool art collective, Copenhagen-based Jim Kimchi explores the varied soundscapes that erupt from the intensive resampling process inherent to his style of composition and sound design. By combining elements from EDM, IDM, free jazz, and glitch music in a hyperglitch-focused energyfest, he navigates a currently-uncharted sonic territory. Delving into the rhythmic interplay between elastic and tightly-composed compositional structures, Jim Kimchi feeds your ears cloudy ambience, clipping sub bass, and feedback-generated blips all fermented into a spicy brine leaking into your auditory cortex.
