written by Dale Launer and Stanley Shapiro & Paul Henning
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the popular 1988 MGM film, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!

PRODUCTION TIMELINE:
Rehearsals will take place at our rehearsal space located at The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. Rehearsal dates are subject to finalization based upon cast selections/availability. Not all cast is required at all rehearsals.
Rehearsals:
- Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 31st
- Rehearsals run every Sunday-Thursday through Thursday March 4th
- Sunday rehearsals run 6:00-10:00; Weeknight rehearsals run 6:30-10:30
- A detailed rehearsal schedule will be published for the cast closer to the start of rehearsal
Tech Rehearsals:
- May Not Be Missed
- Sunday, March 7-Wednesday, March 10 from 6:00-11:00pm
Performances:
- March 11-April 4, 2027
- Thursday-Saturday Performances at 7:30pm
- Sunday Performances at 2:00pm
IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION:
Production Notices
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
- No roles have been precast
- All roles are paid positions
- Housing and transportation are not provided and are the responsibility of the actor
Audition Information
- Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut (up to 45 seconds) of a musical theatre song in the style of the show
- Please bring sheet music that is clearly marked for our accompanist
- Must have a resume listing theatrical experience
- Complete the following audition form Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Audition Form
- All auditionees will receive notice within 1 month of auditions about final casting decisions

An experienced British con artist who is sophisticated, suave, and elegant.
Freddy Benson Male, Age 25-35, Vocal Range A2-B4
A young, clever, aspiring American con artist. He is a sloppy, yet attractive womanizer, and is eventually conned by Christine.
Christine Colgate Female, Age 35-45, Vocal Range A3-F#5
A seemingly good-natured American heiress vacationing on the French Riviera, who is revealed to be a notorious con artist. Naive and clueless at first, she becomes cunning and mischievous.
Andre Thibault Male, Age 45-55, Vocal Range F2-F4
Lawrence's French assistant. Official and mostly serious, he has a light-hearted nature and a quirky sense of humor.

Muriel Eubanks Female, Age 50-60, Vocal Range E3-C5
A wealthy and attractive American socialite from Nebraska, she one of Lawrence's victims and Andre's subsequent love interest.

An American heiress from Oklahoma and the "Princess of Petroleum," she is very eager, optimistic, and energetic.
