Closure: A Staples Workshop

Medical staples can be used in k!nk??? This form of sharps play is often perceived as scarier to a lot of people than needles, but tends to be more beginner-friendly due to the more accessible tools and limited bl**d output. Come learn how to engage in risk-aware consensual k!nk practices around sharps play using staples in "Closure: A Staples Workshop" led by Oran Julius.
In this workshop, we will review reasons why people might want to engage in play with staples, safety measures, and ideas for incorporating into scenes, before demonstrating techniques in a live demo. Following the demo, there will be time for questions before participants will be given time to practice some of the techniques they learned under supervision from Oran.
Supplies provided will include: gloves, disinfectant, pup pads, paper towels, a stapler, a stapler remover, and individual sharps containers.
You are welcome to come solo, but be prepared to practice on yourself or only listen & watch. We'll do our best to help facilitate pairing of folks who come alone, but we cannot guarantee anyone a bottom to practice on! Everyone attending must get a ticket, including those only wanting to bottom; however, bottoms can get a “sans-materials” ticket if desired.

COVID-19 Policy

COVID-19 is still prevalent and provides risks to many folks, most significantly those with already marginalized identities (Including your presenter!).

To make this space more accessible, all attendees must wear a well-fitting mask over the nose and mouth for the duration of the workshop.We ask that you stay home if you have any cold symptoms, even if you test negative for COVID-19. There will be more workshops!

About Your Instructor

Oran Julius (they/he) is a femmeboy himbo, multitasking maven, and creative dreamer. Oran is a Black, queer, disabled and neurodivergent, non-binary femme. A true Renaissance man, Oran is always picking up new skills, and loves to share what he knows. They are a true switch who loves to play with extremes, swinging from unsettling sadism to eager masochism.

Price Transparency

The full fee for this workshop is $65. The full fee reflects the true costs of running the event, including supplies ($20/pp) and compensating facilitators for their labor. If you are able to afford a full price ticket without experiencing financial hardship, please choose this option.

Those who cannot afford a full fee ticket are welcome to pay what they can on the sliding scale of $20-$60. Everyone will receive the same supplies regardless of how much you pay for your ticket. Whatever makes you feel comfortable inside, but "street legal" outside of the venue. Folks are welcome to be as clothed/unclothed as they would like during the practice time.
