About this Event

Join the Ann Arbor Sustainable Food Business Coalition, the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability & innovations, and the University of Michigan Campus Farm on October 13th from 2:00 - 3:30 pm for a guided farm tour and open discussion on how farms and food businesses can work together for shared success.

Farmers, producers, distributors, chefs, buyers, food service operators, and local food advocates are invited to join us for a guided farm tour and robust conversation about real-world strategies for building successful relatinoships between farms and food businesses.

During this event, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the UM Campus Farm, meet the farm team, and see firsthand how the University of Michigan Campus Farm and Michigan Dining are working together to supply thousands of pounds of farm-fresh food per year to the UM campus community, while also building healthy soils and reducing food waste in landfills.

Participants will learn about the University's collaborative menu & crop planning process, see firsthand how effective local sourcing partnerships can work at scale, and network with like-minded peers interested in building a stronger, more sustainable local food system.

This event is hosted by the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations, the Ann Arbor Sustainable Food Business Coalition, and the University of Michigan Campus Farm. The SFBC is a network of over 40 businesses and organizations, all working together to advance sustainability in the food system. Learn more about the SFBC: Sustainable Food Business Coalition.
