Wednesday Nov 5th:
Gordan (RS/DE)
Gordan is a collaboration with renowned Serbian singer Svetlana Spajić alongside Andi Stecher and Guido Möbius. The group explores the strengths and sensitivities of Spajić, Stecher, and Möbius across their respective musical realms, engaging in a constant dialogue between sound and noise that brings traditional Balkan singing into play with hypnotic drum beats, rich feedback experiments, and cool minimalism. Expect a theatrical performance that utilizes the space between the audience, set against a backdrop of hypnotic psychedelia and expressive Serbian folk singing.
Lipbalm (DK)
lipbalm is a duo in the making. For this specific show, lipbalm unfolds across genres, embracing pop songs, improvisations, and collage works in one breath. The live performance is accompanied by a narrative video essay composed of phone footage, internet samples, scripted scenes, and fragments of text. lipbalm is a local Copenhagen-based songwriter and composer.
Kwiotki (PL)
Kwiotki (PL)
Kwiotki – three voices intertwined in archaic “white voice” singing. They revive forgotten Polish and Ukrainian folk songs, giving them a trance-like, mystical character. Tradition meets hurdy-gurdy, bass synthesizer, and frame drum, creating a sound that is raw, ritual, and contemporary at the same time.
Thursday Nov 6th:
Jrpjej (NC)
Jrpjej (Ored Recordings) is a post-traditional Circassian ensemble that blends acoustic instruments like shichepshin, apapshin, and accordion into a dense, intense sound reminiscent of metal or experimental electronics. Fronted by vocalist and theatre actress Svetlana Mamresh, the group explores the intersection of Circassian tradition, European classical music, and forgotten North Caucasian folk practices.
Only Now (US)
Only Now is the alias of Indo-Californian producer Kush Arora. Fusing deconstructed Punjabi music with industrial, dancehall, and noise, Only Now is a raw expression of Arora’s eclectic influences, his Indian heritage, and decades of involvement in the Bay Area underground since the ’90s. This project takes experimental electronics, soundsystem culture, and traditional Indian music to places they’ve never been before—summoning an exceptional, boundary-pushing soundworld.
sophie-lou (DK)
Emotions lay bare in sophie-lou’s universe. Behind the artist name stands songwriter, producer, and singer Sofie Thorsen. With a background in the Danish National Girls’ Choir, sophie-lou merges the harmonies associated with the Danish song tradition with gritty DIY sounds, off-kilter synths, and a deeply personal and direct lyrical universe. The result is grand yet vulnerable, and sophie-lou invites the listener into a space where the personal becomes universal.
