CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE BEER KIND
About this Event
We’re welcoming Christian Cummins from Bearwood Brewing for an evening of science fiction, brewery stories and a sci-fi quiz with some truly fantastic prizes up for grabs!
With beer names including Arrakis, Long Hoth Summer and Express Elevator to Hell, Bearwood’s brewing universe is full of nods to strange worlds and distant galaxies. How many references have you spotted?
Christian will talk us through the stories behind his beers, the inspiration for their names and the sci-fi connections woven through the range. Expect brewery tales, geeky conversation and plenty of opportunities to ask questions or share your own impressively obscure knowledge.
We’ll have three Bearwood beers on tap, plus cans in the fridge, so you can choose what to try and explore the flavours while you chat.
Then it’s time to put your sci-fi knowledge to the test.
Gather your rebels, replicants and fellow travellers for a quiz spanning strange worlds, distant galaxies and questionable team decisions. Whether you know your Arrakis from your LV-426 or recognise the spaceship but can’t remember who’s driving it, come aboard and join the fun.
Expect friendly competition, suitably ridiculous team names and some amazing prizes worth assembling your finest crew for.
Meet the people behind the beer. Find your fellow fans. Prepare for close encounters of the beer kind.
