About this Event
Deakin University’s School of Medicine is offering a one day training course focusing on Clinical Ethics in Organ Transplantation.
The course has been designed by Deakin Bioethics in collaboration with clinicians involved in organ transplantation. Participants will explore the fundamental principles guiding organ donation and transplantation as well as recent developments and debates in transplant ethics. The focus will be on ethical issues relating to decision-making about living donation and transplantation of organs from living and deceased donors. An optional second day focused on ethical issues in deceased donation is available.
Providing a practical introduction to ethical decision-making, the course will facilitate learning through the use of case studies and interprofessional, facilitated small group discussions. For information about the faculty involved in the course including local and international speakers, panelists, and facilitators, and the program, please stay tuned. Please note the flyer will be updated as more faculty are confirmed and program details finalised.
The course will be held at Deakin's beautiful corporate campus, "Deakin Downtown", 727 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
Tickets are inclusive of course materials and refreshments (coffee, morning & afternoon tea, lunch).
All attendees will receive a certificate of completion, identifying the number of CPD hours for the workshop.
