Teaming up with your Farrier to get the most out of your horse. It is about being a part of the team.
Learning to speak their language to best help your horse.
-Briefly cover anatomy and function of the hoof.
- Discussing pathologies and common terms. (Laminitis, Founder, Ringbone, Navicular, Hunters Bump, Breaker, Rocker, Roller)
- Barefoot Versus shod?
- Steel, aluminum, polyurethane shoes
- How do we dictate what we feel and see to our farrier and what all can they do in return.
-The clinic will cover the importance of angles and how they affect movement.
What will be doing in the clinic you might ask?
- Watching a horses movement and discussing what we see.
- Reading the hoof and understanding what it is telling us.
- Learning the language of a farrier so you as an owner can take part in the discussion. What am I paying for?
- Discussing barefoot vs shod. (Various shoe packages and what does that mean to you as a rider).
