About this Event
On the heels of Earth Day 2026, the City of Sault Ste. Marie's Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) seeks to invite the community to a free presentation focused on the nexus between climate action and economic opportunity. The event will showcase how sustainability can be the key to building a stronger, more resilient local economy. Sault Ste. Marie is navigating an economic transition, and the ESC hopes that speaker Dr. Bruce Lourie will highlight to the community how environmental sustainability can be a driver of innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurship. By positioning the net-zero transition as an economic strategy, the event aims to highlight how Sault Ste. Marie can thrive in a low-carbon, circular economy.
