Climate Chat & Change-Making with Earth Gives

Phoenix is hot. So hot that it is often the first city mentioned in books on climate change or global gatherings to advance solutions to the warming planet. That’s what Rhonda Bannard has discovered in her life pivot to research and work on the crisis that is causing more frequent wildfires, drought, extreme storms, loss of biodiversity, plastic pollution and its impact on food, our health, our kid’s health and ability to thrive long into the future.

For Earth Month, Rhonda will bring along a variety of voices to share insights and steps we can all take – small and big. The conversation will take place at Changing Hands Bookstore – Phoenix on April 15 at 6:30pm. Rhonda will share insights she’s learned at a variety of climate conferences, reading and her engagement with climate and environmental nonprofits all across the US through her organization, Earth Gives. Additional insights and actionable ideas will be delivered by Phoenix area high school students with the AZ Youth Climate Coalition, a composting expert, and a farm, food and environmental scientist.

Free. Book recommendations will be made.

Earth Gives will invite attendees to donate to its nationwide climate giving initiative’s Prize Fund. 100% of the Prize Fund is awarded to nonprofits across the U.S. doing work on the frontlines of climate change, renewables, wildlife, STEM, pollution, river and lake stewardship, marine science and so much more.
