📍DMJ has adopted a Highway. Our Highway is a section of 0616-Old Centreville Road, Manassas.Please email [email protected] if you are able to volunteer!!! Thank you!!
Our first cleanup will take place on Friday April 25th. 10am
(add ’l dates will be listed, to include a couple weekends)
Meet at Costello Park- Park Place, Manassas VA at 10:00am
There is plenty of parking here and this is the middle halfway spot of our street.
Prior to us starting, we will have a safety meeting with all volunteers, you must be here for the safety meeting to participate.
The plan depends on how many volunteers we will have but planning on splitting up into two groups...one group goes one way and the other goes the other direction to meet back up at the park.
Est. time should take about 2 hours (but again we have not done this so must be flexible on time)
SAFETY GUIDELINES-
• You must wear a safety vest during the whole trash pickup time, DMJ will supply safety vests.
• No one under the age of 18 can participate in the cleaning
• Closed toe shoes are required
• Gloves- are NOT provided, please bring work or garden gloves to wear. (DMJ will have a couple pairs available to borrow)
• Trash picker uppers - are NOT provided, if you have one, please bring (DMJ will have a couple available to borrow)
• Please wear long sleeves and long pants due to any high brush (not required, just suggested)
• Bring water to stay hydrated
Once we are done…we’ll go for some food and drinks!
Let’s clean our road and you know we’ll have fun doing it!!!
