Welcome to the Clean Maritime Research Conference hosted by the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub!

Join us for an exciting in-person event at Bayes Business School, City University, London.

Engage with industry experts and academics as we showcase the research going on across the Hub and hear from stakeholders across the maritime sector around the topics of:

• Clean Maritime: A Finance and Policy Perspective
• Innovation in Maritime Fuels, Safety and Vessel Design
• Powering Ahead: Port Operations, Infrastructure & Power and Propulsion

Following an opening address from the Hub's Director, Professor Tony Roskilly, there will be a Keynote from Professor Sarah Sharples, Chief Academic Adviser for the Department for Transport.

As we finalise the programme, expect a stimulating lineup of insightful presentations, alongside interactive Q&A panel discussions, addressing the challenges and innovative solutions needed to accelerate the transition to a cleaner maritime future.

The conference is a fantastic opportunity to network with stakeholders passionate about sustainable maritime innovation and find out more about the Hub.

Our Partnerships

Funded by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council, the Department for Transport’s UK SHORE programme and industry, the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub (UK-MaRes Hub) is a consortium of 13 universities, led by Durham University in collaboration with the universities of Aston, Birmingham, Brighton, City, Cranfield, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Solent Southampton, St Andrews and Ulster.

Our Vision

Our vision is to go beyond conventional marine engineering and naval architecture to create a pioneering research hub, providing technically, environmentally, socially and economically informed pathways to decarbonise the maritime sector.

We are also supported in this endeavour by over 70 industrial, civic and international partners.
