About this Event
As far right movements unleash plans for mass deportations and unravel decades of civil rights gains, how do attorneys best support those affected? How do we counsel immigrant clients whose rights have been violated on the job and elsewhere when legitimate fears of deportation abound? As civil rights agencies erode, how do we counsel clients of color, women and LGBTQ clients? How can we take strong stances and fight back despite this hostile climate?
While there are no uniform answers to these questions, this topic is of urgent concern. Come hear from members of these protected classes who will share their experiences together with the attorneys who represent them, and share your thoughts as well.
This CLE is free for members of Heartland Center for Jobs and Freedom’s Lawyers’ Committee members and $100 for non-members. If you are interested in joining the Lawyers’ Committee, please reach out to Gina Chiala at ginachiala (at) jobsandfreedom.org.
Light snacks and NA drinks will be served. Garage parking will be validated.
