About this Event
This online and in-person CLE is a practical session designed to help legal aid professionals spot and address retirement division issues in family law cases. Experts will break down the basics of QDROs (Qualified Domestic Relations Order)—what they are, why they matter, and how to navigate the process to protect clients’ financial futures. Through real-world examples and interactive discussions, participants will learn key strategies to ensure their clients don’t miss out on critical retirement benefits.
Marshal Willick (Principal of the Willick Law Group), Louise Nixon (Founder of QDRO Benefits Law Group Inc.), and Carrie Holmes (Executive Director of the Center for Access to QDROs) will present the course online via GoTo Meeting and in-person in the Engelstad Family Classroom at Legal Aid Center. Attorneys who refer others to this CLE can receive a free Starbucks gift card.
Nevada-licensed or emeritus-certified attorneys can earn 1.0 general CLE credit by attending. To receive credit, attorneys must be active volunteers with the Pro Bono Project. You can select a case or sign up for Ask-A-Lawyers from www.lacsnprobono.org.
