CLE Course: Introduction to Minor Guardianship

In honor of National Pro Bono Week, please join us for a free CLE course at Brownstein Law Firm to learn the role of the children’s attorney and an overview of the court proceedings and processes involved in guardianship cases for both guardianships of the person and estate.

Thousands of children in Clark County are cared for by someone other than their parents due to their parents’ death, incarceration, or unsuitability. These children, who are outside the supervision of Children’s Protective Services, have largely gone without advocacy, despite facing many of the same issues as children in the dependency system.

The Minor Guardianship Advocacy Program at Legal Aid Center will present the course in-person at Brownstein. Lunch will be provided by Brownstein to in-person attendees. Pro bono attorneys who refer others to this CLE can receive a free Starbucks gift card.

Nevada-licensed or emeritus-certified attorneys can earn 1.0 General Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. Attorneys must take a new pro bono case or volunteer for two Ask-A-Lawyer sessions to receive credit. You can select a case or sign up for Ask-A-Lawyers from www.lacsnprobono.org.
